What makes a work mixed media?
Mixed media works combine two or more forms of media. It is not limited to a single genre. An example is this video, combining 2d animation with footage shot in the real world. We are searching for work that uses mixed media as a tool to enhance its meaning.
I'm a mixed media creator. How can I send you my work?
We are currently prioritizing multimedia submissions to our literary magazine: The Recurring Phenomena. If you would like to contribute, please view the submission guidelines, or email hello@therecurringphenomena.com with any questions.
To potentially sign with us for a full length book, please email hello@ghostprintingpublishing.com
Do I have to live in Washington state to work with you?
Not at all. We are open to any authors living across the globe. Regardless of demographic or genre, we want to uplift all voices who love and create mixed media work.
Do I need to have representation to work with you or pay a fee?
Never. Our priority is to make publishing as accessible as possible for underrepresented creatives.
OUR TEAM
Madison Toranne Nikfard
Author & Founder
Madison Toranne Nikfard is a passionate writer & artist with a lifelong love for mixed media work. She grew up in her family's printshop, watching all sorts of ephemera being created, printed, & distributed. This led to an interest in bringing her own creative works to life. In high school, she started to self-publish her writing & art.
While earning her BFA & MFA at the University of Washington, she started professionally pursuing creative writing. Her goal is to uplift mixcd media creatives like herself, and to bring more attention to mixed media as a powerful tool in storytelling.
Madison Toranne's first titles were self-published works written primarily between the ages of 13-21. Her most well known title was DUDE, a YA fiction novel exploring the mental toll that high school takes on young women. She also has been featured as a collaborator in several external collections, such as Clamor: Literary & Arts Journal. Her recent creative interests include ghost lovers, growing pains, & mixed identities.
